Premium custom boxes in mailer, carton and rigid styles styled across a warm commercial packaging scene.

Custom Boxes Made to Order

Custom boxes can be produced for retail presentation, ecommerce delivery, product protection, gifting and storage in the exact size, board and structure your product needs. Choose mailer boxes, folding cartons, rigid boxes, shipping cartons or display boxes, then add print, finishes or inserts where they improve the job.

Unlike a stock box with a logo added later, custom boxes let you control the internal dimensions, opening style, board, print placement and product fit. That gives you fewer compromises when a product needs a tighter fit, stronger transit protection, a more polished shelf presence or a better opening experience.

You can start with a finished box specification or simply send the product dimensions, quantity and a reference. Custom Packly can help resolve structure, dielines, artwork and fit before production, so you do not need every decision finalised before asking for pricing.

When the requirement extends beyond boxes, Custom Packaging can combine bags, sleeves, tubes, pouches and inserts with the same production plan.

Box Families You Can Order

The right box depends on what the product must do after it leaves your hands. A retail carton needs strong print panels and efficient storage. A courier parcel needs corrugated strength. A premium gift may need rigid walls, a fitted insert and a slower reveal.

Mailer boxes

Branded ecommerce orders often use Custom Mailer Boxes when the same box needs to protect the product and arrive with a clean presentation. Corrugated construction adds structure, while inside print can create a branded opening without adding another printed piece.

Mailer boxes suit apparel, skincare, accessories, subscription products, sample kits and smaller gift sets. The dimensions can be adjusted to reduce empty space and keep the contents under better control.

Folding cartons

Retail products that need a lightweight printed carton often suit Custom Folding Cartons and Tuck Boxes. Straight tuck, reverse tuck, auto lock and window cartons each support a different loading method, base strength or display need.

Paperboard cartons work especially well for beauty, wellness, candles, small electronics, dry goods and other products where crisp printing and flat storage matter.

Rigid boxes

Premium products, gift sets and presentation kits can use Custom Rigid Boxes when firm walls, a controlled opening and a substantial feel are part of the product experience.

Magnetic closures, drawer styles, lift-off lids and fitted inserts can create a more deliberate presentation. Rigid packaging also gives more scope for wrapped papers, foil, embossing and interior detailing.

Shipping cartons

Products that face courier handling, stacking or heavier loads may need Custom Shipping and Postal Boxes. Corrugated board, flap coverage and carton depth can be specified around the packed weight and the way the order moves through delivery.

This is where made-to-size production can reduce excessive void space, unnecessary filler and the risk of a product moving inside an oversized stock carton.

Display boxes

Counter displays, shelf-ready cartons and open-front structures help place products where they can be seen and picked up easily. They can hold smaller units, keep products organised and give retailers a clear branded face at the point of purchase.

Display packaging can also be coordinated with individual retail cartons so the product and the outer display share colour, artwork and structural logic.

Fit Comes Before Decoration

A box should hold the product correctly before print or finishes are added. Custom sizing lets the internal dimensions account for the product itself, any primary container, protective material and the space needed to insert or remove it comfortably.

A close-fitting carton can reduce movement. A mailer may need extra room for folded side walls. A rigid presentation box may need more clearance around an insert. A shipping carton may need space for cushioning or dividers. Those details change the useful internal size even when the product measurements stay the same.

When bottles, jars, devices or multi-piece sets need controlled placement, Custom Inserts and Dividers can hold items apart, reduce movement and improve the first view when the box opens.

A free sample before full production can be useful when fit, closure, insert tension or opening feel needs a physical check.

Board Chosen for the Job

Material choice should match weight, handling and presentation rather than being selected by appearance alone.

Paperboard

Paperboard suits folding cartons, retail boxes and sleeves that need clean creases, detailed print and efficient flat storage. White stocks give colour a bright base, while kraft can create a more natural surface.

Corrugated board

Corrugated board adds cushioning, stacking strength and impact resistance for mailers and shipping cartons. The flute and board grade should reflect the product weight, box dimensions and delivery conditions.

Rigid board

Rigid board creates firm walls that keep their shape and feel more substantial in the hand. It is commonly used for premium gifting, beauty, jewellery, electronics and higher-value product presentation.

For custom boxes, the best result is not always the thickest board. Overspecifying material can add cost and storage bulk without improving the job, while underspecifying it can lead to crushed panels, weak closures or poor presentation.

Printing should strengthen the product presentation without becoming the only reason for choosing the box. Custom Packly can produce outside print, inside print or both, with premium offset printing available for sharp detail and consistent branded presentation.

Brands that need more control over colour, artwork versions or repeated print runs can use Custom Printed Boxes as the print-led service within the same commercial cluster.

Finishes can include matte or gloss treatments, foil, embossing, debossing and spot UV where they suit the material and structure. A retail carton may need a clean printed face and one restrained accent. A rigid gift box may justify more tactile detail. A shipping carton may need simpler artwork that still looks good after handling.

Materials, print coverage, finishes, windows, inserts and other custom details can be planned together through Customisation once the structure and intended use are clear.

Boxes for Retail and Delivery

Custom boxes can serve different parts of the same product journey. A product sold in-store may use a folding carton with strong front-panel branding, then travel to the retailer inside a corrugated outer. The same product sold online may need a mailer or shipping carton around the retail box.

Beauty and wellness products often need compact cartons with accurate fit and clear product information. Apparel and accessories can use mailers, rigid presentation boxes or shipping cartons depending on price point and fulfilment. Electronics may need corrugated protection plus an insert. Gift sets often benefit from a rigid or mailer structure that keeps several items arranged during opening.

This is why one box type should not be forced across every product. The structure should reflect how the item is stored, handled, displayed and delivered.

One Box System, Several Products

Businesses with several products rarely benefit from forcing the same custom box concept across every size. A more practical approach is to keep the visual system consistent while giving each product the dimensions and structure it actually needs.

A skincare line might use the same paperboard, colour rules and finish across three carton sizes. An apparel business could use two mailer sizes for everyday orders and a rigid box for premium gifting. An electronics seller may keep the same outer branding while changing the insert for different device bundles.

This approach keeps the brand recognisable without forcing a small product into an oversized box or a heavy product into a structure that was chosen for something lighter.

Each size normally needs its own confirmed dieline because panel proportions, folds and print placement change with dimensions. Once those specifications are approved, future artwork versions can be easier to manage. Seasonal graphics, product variants or limited editions can often retain the same box structure while selected print elements change.

For teams managing several box sizes, clear naming, approved artwork files and repeat specifications also reduce mistakes when orders are placed again.

From 50 to Repeat Runs

MOQ starts from 50, but Custom Packly is not limited to small orders. Custom box production can move from a first run into hundreds, thousands or larger recurring requirements without changing the core dimensions, artwork or specification unless you choose to update them.

Australian production supports a 4–6 day turnaround for production-ready work, with free delivery included. Repeat-order discounts and bulk storage support can help businesses that need steady supply without receiving every unit at once.

Experience across millions of custom boxes and thousands of completed orders also matters when a project expands into several sizes, artwork versions or recurring runs. The aim is to keep the approved structure, colour, finish and fit consistent rather than treating every reorder like a new project.

Repeat supply at scale

In one Custom Packly ecommerce project, the requirement reached around 60,000 mailer boxes each month after the previous supply had suffered from inconsistent quality, delays and pricing problems. Better print control and planned storage supported consistent packaging for nine months while keeping the required appearance and structure steady across repeat runs.

That type of requirement depends less on adding new features and more on controlling the details that have already been approved.

Start With the Details You Know

You do not need every technical specification finalised before asking for pricing. Send the information you already have and the team can help resolve the remaining box, material, artwork or insert decisions.

Useful starting details include:

  • Product dimensions and packed weight
  • Required quantity
  • Preferred box type, if known
  • Retail, gifting, storage or delivery use
  • Material or board preference
  • Outside print, inside print or both
  • Finish ideas
  • Insert or divider requirements
  • Artwork status
  • Required completion date

If the dimensions are already clear, the Dieline Tool can create a starting file for supported structures before artwork is finalised. Complex shapes, inserts or specialised closures may still need a custom dieline.
